“The Working World” ~ Watercolour on paper.
For today’s artwork post I’ve chosen a watercolour painting from long, long ago. As a matter of fact, most of my paintings are from long, long ago. Moving out of my parent’s house into smaller quarters and then working long hours in the film industry proved to be a very effective way of deterring me from setting up a board and putting brush to paper.
This watercolour is from right after college (early ’90s) and remains one of my favourites. The symbolism might be a bit on the nose but I’m okay with that. Even today, trying to find common ground with the other parents at my children’s school I sometimes feel like that baboon.
